"flo-Mingo creates an irresistible atmosphere of curiosity by inviting participants into deepening spirals of embodied play. They are a wizard of relational magic, helping participants to connect with themselves and each other by taking off the masks of adulting and remembering how to play. Circus of Life offers an important medicine in these uncertain times and is sure to leave your body buzzing with laughter and connection." - D
"Imagine juggling peacock feathers and training dolphins right in a tucked away Cotati yoga and wellness studio!!! Flomingo brings their own brand own revelry and frolic to the Cotati Moves Wellness Center several times a month. Beyond the absurd, essential life wisdom is imparted. Remembering success and forgetting failure is the fast past to growth and happiness. I learned to juggle in just ten short minutes - well, juggle better anyway. Give yourself a treat and don't miss out!" - A
"I had such a sweet time in your class and had more fun than I expected! I knew it would be fun since you were leading it but I didn’t actually know what to expect in the class and I have my own reservations about juggling (which I’ve never had fun doing in the past) and clowning (I struggle with anxiousness when it comes to performance arts). The way you introduced the class and brought us into our bodies with Qi gong at the beginning eased some tension/nervousness I felt at the start.
I also liked how you talked about failure and how it’s part of the process that we often forget about on our way to success. I felt like that gave permission to mess up and to experiment with “messiness” and finding our edge. I loved all of the options you provided us with balance and flow toy activities. This felt inclusive for folks of varying skill levels and abilities. There were so many levels of challenge for everything and with that, an invitation to create our own versions of the activities. It was playful, which I loved! I also noticed that you circulated throughout the class the whole time and engaged with everyone. That was neat to witness. And I liked how you invited us to share our experience throughout the class while you honestly shared yours.
All in all, I had a good time and I’m so impressed by your work and what you’re creating!! I can’t wait to see where you go with it and how you’ll impact people along the way <3" - M
"I wanted to start by reiterating what a joy it was to take your class in the first place! I know this is a passion project of yours, and to be a student in your space...it felt so good to see you doing the things that you love! My experience, which was of course my own, was that the class came to life when the feathers came out. That's when I first felt like I got to tap into my sense of play. The passing of them back and forth was such a great leveling up of that skill and provided a fun way to connect with a partner (I felt so lucky I got you!). It was such an immediate way to work towards a shared goal and enter the beginnings of that sought after Flow State!
I LOVE the clown game and it was awesome that sprout got to be the dolphin. I know that's the closest we got to "performance" during the workshop, and that personally is where I thrive. I know many of the folks there might have been a bit reluctant to take a chance on a game like that, and I think you did a good job setting up an inclusive space where we felt safe to fail." - S
